The forward brakes disk ventilated back – drum. The working brake system regulates the speed of the car and provides its stop with necessary efficiency (fig. 10.1).

The parking system holds the car not movably concerning the road. Generally use it for keeping of the standing car, but it is possible to apply also at failure of the working brake system.
All cars described in this manual are equipped with the brake system with the hydraulic drive. All brakes are equipped with automatic adjustment of gaps of brake shoes. For forward disk brakes wear of blocks is compensated automatically, for a back drum brake the mechanism of adjustment of a gap of blocks up to reduction of thickness of an overlay of a drum brake to 2,0 mm is provided. The mechanism is activated at each turning on of the brake system.
The hydraulic system consists of two separate contours. The main brake cylinder is equipped with separate tanks for two contours, and in case of leak of liquid or damage to one of hydraulic drives another remains efficient. The double regulator of pressure distributes hydraulic pressure between forward and back brake systems for the purpose of prevention of blocking of back wheels. The control lamp activated by the sensor in a tank of the main brake cylinder warns about the insufficient level of brake fluid in a hydraulic actuator.
The parking brake mechanically includes only back brakes. It is activated when raising the lever located on the central console between front seats.
Operation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes who is in a motor compartment on a partition is based on use of depression of an inlet collector and pressure of atmospheric air. After completion of any operation including removal of any element of the brake system before continuation of its normal operation always carry out a control trip for check of functioning of brakes of the car. Check brakes at the movement on the flat, pure and dry road. Other test conditions can result in inexact results. Check brakes at various speeds as at low, and high loading. The car has to stop evenly, without withdrawal aside. Avoid blocking of brakes as it damages tires and reduces efficiency and controllability when braking.
The condition of tires, loading of the car and adjustment of angles of installation of forward wheels also influence work of brakes.
