Elements of system of economy of fuel on engines with the RVT system are shown in fig. 14.29. Two are provided in system
control lamps, one serves as the indicator of need of inclusion of higher transfer, another – the indicator of excessive opening of a butterfly valve.
The control lamp of need of inclusion of higher transfer lights up after the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine exceeds 2800 min.-1 at the accelerator pedal pressed against the stop; does not work by the included 5th transfer or when braking.
The control lamp of excessive opening of a butterfly valve lights up if pressure in an inlet collector becomes lower than 96-140 mm of mercury., it is also switched off if pressure exceeds this limit.
For check of work of a control lamp connect a tachometer to the engine. Launch the engine and check that the control lamp lit up with a frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the mines-1 engine 2650-2950 and remained included until the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine exceeds this value.
Disconnect the socket from the switch of the 5th transfer on the transmission and connect among themselves contacts of the socket. After that the control lamp should not light up at increase in frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine.
For check of a control lamp of excessive opening of a butterfly valve disconnect a tube from the vacuum switch and connect to it the vacuum pump. Include ignition; the control lamp has to light up when pressure becomes lower than 96-140 mm of mercury., also has to go out at excess of the specified pressure.

The system of injection of air installed on engines with the RVT system includes two vacuum valves of control of air supply, the electromagnetic valve operated by the RVT system control unit and air nozzles on a final collector (fig. 14.30). The system uses a stream of the fulfilled gases for absorption of air from the air filter in a final collector to promote reburning of not burned down or partially burned down fuel.
The system of injection of air consists of two subsystems – one for cylinders the 1 and 4, second for cylinders 2 and 3 as pressure pulsation between these cylinders is synchronized.
In case of an engine overload the system is closed by the electromagnetic valve which opens air valves and lets out the air in the atmosphere.

Turn out bolts of fastening of a clamping plate, disconnect vacuum hoses and remove valves from the air filter (fig. 14.31).
For valve check it is necessary to use the vacuum pump. Connect the valve by means of a tube piece then slowly increase depression and check that the valve began to open with a pressure of 70-90 mm of mercury.
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal.

Lamellar valves
Launch the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature.
Remove air valves.
Launch the engine then several times increase and reduce the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft; using the sheet of paper as the indicator, check that air was sucked in in the case of the lamellar valve.
Supporting the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine about 2500 min.-1, be convinced that of the case of the valve does not go out the fulfilled gases.

For removal of lamellar valves disconnect air hoses and turn out bolts of fastening of an external cover (fig. 14.32). Remove valves and rubber consolidations.
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal.

Air nozzles

Turn off nuts and pick up two air phone (fig. 14.33).
Turn out nozzles from a final collector and remove laying.
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal.

Three-running electromagnetic valve
Warm up the engine and leave it to work in the idling mode.
Connect the voltmeter between contact of "W" of the valve and "mass" of the car. Increase the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine, sharply release a pedal of an accelerator and be convinced that the voltmeter shows zero tension only at reduction of frequency of rotation. Otherwise check the corresponding wires.
Mark places of connection of vacuum hoses, then disconnect them. Disconnect the socket and turn out bolts of fastening of the valve.
Give a current of air on the input channel of the valve and check that air went out only of the channel going to the carburetor. Then give tension
12 V to contacts of the valve also repeat check – air has to go out only of the channel going to the air filter. Replace the electromagnetic valve if it is faulty.
