Repair and replacement of plastic elements
Producers of cars increase use of plastic at production of cars (bumpers, spoilers, even body panels, etc.). In case of serious damage of such elements it is recommended to address experts in this area or to replace them as in usual auto repair shop repair is very expensive because of the high cost of the equipment and materials. The basis of technology of repair is made by creation of a flute the rotational file inserted into the electric drill in the area of a crack in plasticity. The damaged elements then cook together with the help of the thermal gun used for heating and a vplavleniye in a flute of the plastic filling core. Excessive plastic is removed after that, and all area is processed for receiving a plain and smooth surface. It is very important to use the filling core of the corresponding type as plastic elements of a body can be made of various materials (polycarbonate, ABS, polypropylene and so forth).
Small damages (an attrition, small cracks, etc.) can be removed in repair shop by means of the epoxy repair solution consisting of two components. If they are mixed in an equal proportion, solution is used for repair of a body similar to use of filling on metal surfaces. The filler usually hardens in 20–30 min. and is ready for processing and painting.
If the repair shop makes replacement of all element of a body or repairs it with use of epoxy solution, then there is a problem of selection of paint which would be compatible to type of the used plastic. Use of universal paints is impossible because of a large number of various types of plastic of which body elements are made. Usual paints will strongly not keep on plastic or rubber. However now there was an opportunity to acquire set for a closing stage of processing of plastic which includes structures for preliminary and preprocessing of a surface of plastic and multi-colored structures for drawing the last layer. The full list of instructions for application is usually attached to set, but generally the method of its use consists in drawing preliminary structure on the processed surface and its subsequent endurance within 30 min. before drying. Then primary structure which dries during 1 h is put before putting a color layer of the finishing structure. As a result the required color painted in an element of a body on which rubber or plastic surface paint well keeps turns out.

Door upholstery
On cars of later models the window regulator switch panel with the electric drive does not separate from an upholstery of the internal handle of a door. The pocket is increased by doors, and on it the cover which is closed under the influence of a spring which, in turn, closes two screws of fastening of an upholstery of a door is established.
The lamp which is lighting up when opening a door is established in a door upholstery and therefore at removal of an upholstery it is necessary to disconnect the socket from a lamp.

Removal and installation of the dashboard (fig. 14.37) it is similar to the removal and installation of the dashboard described in section 12 "Body". You carry out removal of elements in such sequence:
– steering wheel;
– casing of a steering column;
– the combined switch;
– facing panel of a combination of devices;
– combination of devices;
– back console;
– central console;
– lower panels of finishing of the dashboard;
– forward panel;
– arm;
– air duct;
– lattices of loudspeakers;
– top bolts of fastening of the dashboard;
– side bolts of fastening of the dashboard;
– lower nuts of fastening of the dashboard;
– cables of management of a heater;
– lower bolts of fastening of the dashboard;
– dashboard.
