2.19. Check of a temperature regulator of the air which is soaked up by the engine

All engines are equipped with a temperature regulator of the air which is soaked up by the engine,
which gives air to the carburetor from various places depending on engine temperature.
Check of a temperature regulator of the air which is soaked up by the engine is carried out visually, for this purpose it is possible to use a small mirror.
The gate of a temperature regulator is located in a long airintaking tube under the metal case of the air filter and is visible from the case of the air filter. Make sure that the flexible air hose is reliably attached and is not damaged.
If there is a flexible air duct attached to the end of a tube and conducting to the platform behind a forward lattice, disconnect it from a tube. It will give the chance through the end of a tube to watch position of the gate of a temperature regulator located in a tube.
Check should be carried out on the cold engine. Launch the engine and watch position of the gate in a tube which has to be closed. At the closed gate air cannot arrive through a tube, and comes to the air filter through the flexible corrugated hose attached to the zabornik of air located about a final collector.
After warming up of the engine up to the working temperature the gate has to open and let in air through an airintaking tube. Depending on air temperature it can last 10–15 min. To accelerate check, it is possible to connect an air duct, to make a trip on the car and to check whether the gate is open completely.
If the temperature regulator of the air which is soaked up by the engine does not work properly, replace it.
