2.29. Check and replacement of the valve of ventilation of crankcase gases (PCV)

The valve of ventilation of crankcase gases is located in a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
During the operation of the engine in the idling mode at a normal working temperature extend the valve (with the attached hose) from the rubber condensing ring.

Fig. 2.20. Valve check of ventilation of crankcase gases (PCV)

Apply a finger to an end face of the valve (fig. 2.20). If the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine decreases, so the valve works normally. If the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine does not decrease, so the valve is faulty, it needs to be replaced.
For replacement of the valve remove it from the end of a hose, having marked situation and the direction of the correct installation.
Buying the valve of ventilation of crankcase PCV gases, be convinced that it corresponds to model of your car, year of release and engine displacement. Compare the old valve with new to be convinced that they are identical.
Insert the valve into a hose end face. Examine a rubber sealing ring on absence of damage and in case of need replace it.
Reliably install the valve of ventilation of crankcase PCV gases and a hose in initial situation.
