2.31. Check of system of catching of vapors of fuel

The filter with absorbent carbon interferes with penetration of harmful vapors of fuel from the fuel tank in the atmosphere. Vapors of fuel collect in a canister with absorbent carbon – an adsorber and during the operation of the engine are burned up in cylinders. The most general sign of malfunction in system of catching of vapors of fuel is a strong smell of gasoline in a motor compartment. Examine the canister with absorbent carbon located on a partition of a motor compartment and system hoses.
For check of work of system place hands under a canister of catching of vapors of fuel during the operation of the engine at a normal working temperature and the subsequent slow increase in frequency of rotation of a bent shaft. If under the basis of a canister the movement of air is felt, the system of catching of vapors of fuel works normally.
