2.4. Check of tires and pressure in tires

Tires have to hold the car on the required trajectory irrespective of weather conditions and a condition of a paving. The centrifugal forces arising when passing turns and trying to displace the car in the party opposite to turn are added to forces influencing tires at acceleration and braking of the car. In all cases of the tire have to perceive the loadings influencing them and keep a trajectory of the movement.
Check of a condition of tires – an important element of prevention. On a condition of tires it is possible to judge a condition of steering and a suspension bracket of the car, to prevent serious damages.
Maintenance of necessary pressure in tires increases the term of their service, provides the minimum fuel consumption and increases comfortableness of a trip.
When checking a condition of tires first of all it is necessary to define wear of a protector. Uneven wear of a protector (wear of the central paths, spotty, uneven wear) indicates the wrong adjustment of a convergence of wheels and/or balancing, in this case it is necessary to bring the car to repair shop for malfunction elimination.
Check a tire protector for existence of cuts and gaps. If the nail punches a protector of the tire and will get stuck in it, the tire will keep air pressure only short time therefore it is necessary to address in a workshop for restoration of the punctured tire.
It is important to check internal and external sidewalls of tires for existence of damages of rubber, cuts and gaps. Examine inside of tires on existence of traces of leak of brake fluid and at their existence immediately check elements of the brake system.
Pressure in tires cannot be determined visually, especially for radial tires. For determination of pressure in the tire it is necessary to use the manometer.
Always check pressure on cold tires. Tires of the car which passed no more than one kilometer after the parking not less than three hours are considered cold.
Turn off a cap of the gate and strongly press a manometer tip to the gate. Record indications on the manometer and compare to the recommended tire pressure.
Check pressure in all tires, including the tire on a spare wheel, and if necessary modify pressure. After check of pressure establish into place a cap of the gate which will prevent hit of dirt and moisture on the nipple.
