3.3. Replacement and repair of basic elements of the engine

Cover of a head of the block of cylinders
Removal
Remove the air filter.
Remove the spool-type device and disconnect a hose of system of ventilation of a case.
Turn off bolts and uncover with the engine of a head of the block of cylinders.
In need of removal of laying from a cover beat out it easy blows of the hammer with a soft pro-rate or by means of the tool with a thin edge (the pallet or the screw-driver), having inserted it into an angular part of laying.
Clear a cover of a head of the block of cylinders of the laying material remains on privalochny surfaces. Do not delete them at all with a firm scraper or a shaber as aluminum alloy very soft.
Installation
Establish into place new laying and a cover. Screw bolts of fastening and tighten them the required moment.
Install the air filter and elements of system of ventilation of a case.

Removal and installation of casings of a gear belt of the drive  of the camshaft
Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
Top casing
Weaken a tension of auxiliary driving belts and take off them.
Turn off all available bolts of fastening of a casing of a belt of the drive of the camshaft.
On the models equipped with air conditioning system, rotating a bolt of a natyazhitel, take away a roller of a natyazhitel of a belt of the drive of the fan down to an emphasis, then take aside a natyazhitel to provide access to other bolts of fastening of a casing.

Turn out bolts of fastening and remove a casing from the engine (fig. 3.1).
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal. Adjust a tension of driving belts.
Lower casing
Turn off the top bolt of fastening, access to which is possible from a motor compartment.
Lift a forward part of the car, establish it on supports, remove the right forward wheel and a mudguard.
Turn off two remained bolts and remove a casing from the engine.
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal.

Removal, installation and adjustment of a tension of a gear belt of the drive of the camshaft 
Removal
Remove casings of a gear belt of the drive of the camshaft.

Turn out spark plugs and a key turn a bent shaft for a head of a bolt of fastening of a pulley before combination of a tag on a pulley with a tag of "VMT" (0 °) on a scale of the index and a tag "And" (for the engine of 2,0 l) on a camshaft pulley with a tag on a back casing (fig. 3.2). On the 1,6 l engine the tag "In" on a pulley is combined with a tag on a casing.
Turn off bolts and remove a pulley of driving belts of a bent shaft from a pulley of a gear belt. Because of a lack of the place it is difficult to remove a pulley from the car, however for the considered procedure it is optional to do it. It is necessary to remove a pulley of driving belts from a pulley of a gear belt only.

PREVENTION
If the belt is used further, then before weakening of a tension of a belt mark with an arrow the direction of its rotation.

Turn off the fixing bolt of a natyazhitel of a belt.
Take off a belt from pulleys.
Examine a belt. Replace it new in the presence of at least one of the following damages: anguishes, stratifications, wear, cracks, hardenings, excesses, traces of oil or other liquids. The belt should be replaced also at development of the resource established by the instruction.
Installation
Be convinced of combination of tags of pulleys on cranked and distributive shaft (see fig. 3.2).

Hook on a spring for a natyazhitel and take away a natyazhitel, having made the maximum effort. Tighten a bolt of a natyazhitel, having recorded it in the situation shown in fig. 3.3.

Put on a belt the conducting and conducted pulleys from outside, opposite to the water pump and a natyazhitel as at the same time the required tension of a belt (fig. 3.4) is provided. If the old belt is established, then be convinced that the direction of previously put arrow coincides with the direction of rotation of a belt.
Adjustment of a tension
Weaken a lock bolt of a natyazhitel, at the same time the effort to a belt is transferred only from a spring.

Turn a bent shaft on two turns clockwise (at the same time on both sides of a belt the equal efforts are used) then tighten a lock bolt (fig. 3.5).
Check correctness of combination of tags of pulleys of a gear belt.
Check a belt tension, pressing in the middle between the leader and conducted by pulleys with the outer side. Measure a deflection and compare it with provided in specifications.
If the tension does not correspond to this value, repeat operations on its tension.
Establish belt casings, a pulley of a bent shaft and a spark plug.

The conducted pulley of the drive of a gear belt 
Removal
Remove casings of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.
Take off a gear belt.
Record the conducted pulley from a provorachivaniye, having screwed for this purpose a long bolt with a mandrel in an opening for one of bolts of fastening of a back casing. Turn off a bolt of fastening of a pulley and remove a washer and a pulley.
Installation
Install a pulley on the camshaft and combine tags on a pulley and a cover. Installation of a pulley on a shaft is carried out on the pin pressed in a forward part of the camshaft which has to enter the corresponding opening in a pulley.
Having recorded a pulley from a provorachivaniye, screw a bolt with a washer. Tighten a bolt the required moment.
Establish a gear belt, a cover and other removed details.,

Pulley of a bent shaft
Removal
Lift a forward part of the car and establish on supports.
Remove a forward right wheel and a mudguard.
Weaken tension of a driving belt and take off it from pulleys.
Turn off bolts of fastening of a pulley of a driving belt.
In a case of coupling enter the big screw-driver into a technological window and insert it between flywheel wreath teeths, having stopped thereby a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye.
Having asked the assistant to hold the screw-driver, turn off a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a bent shaft, remove a bolt and a washer.
Remove a pulley.
Installation
Establish a pulley and bolts of fastening, tighten by hand bolts of fastening of the leading pulley.
Having recorded a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye, tighten the required moment bolts of fastening of a pulley of a driving belt.
Put on and pull a belt of the drive of auxiliary units.
Establish a mudguard, a wheel and lower the car.

Leading pulley of the drive of a gear belt 
Removal
Take off a gear belt.
In a case of coupling enter the big screw-driver into a technological window and insert it between flywheel wreath teeths, having stopped thereby a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye. Having asked the assistant to hold the screw-driver, turn off a bolt of fastening of the leading pulley of a bent shaft, remove a washer and a pulley.
Remove a pulley of a gear belt from a bent shaft. If landing of a segment spline of a pulley weakened, remove a spline.
Installation
Establish a spline (if it was removed).
Slightly grease a spline and a sock of a bent shaft. Establish a pulley of a gear belt on a bent shaft and tighten by hand a bolt of fastening of a pulley. Having recorded a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye, tighten a bolt of fastening of a pulley the required moment.
Put on a gear belt and adjust its tension.

Replacement of an epiploon of the oil pump
Removal
Remove a casing of a gear belt of the drive of the camshaft and a gear belt.
Remove a pulley of driving belts and a pulley of a gear belt from a bent shaft.
Having installed the screw-driver under an epiploon, take it from a nest in a forward cover.
Installation
Oil a working edge of an epiploon engine and establish an epiploon by a working edge inside.
By means of a special tubular mandrel and the hammer establish by easy uniform blows an epiploon in a nest.
Establish into place a pulley of a gear belt and a pulley of driving belts of a bent shaft.
Establish a gear belt of the drive of the camshaft and casings of a belt.

Camshaft
Removal
Remove a forward casing of a gear belt of the drive of the camshaft, a gear belt and the conducted pulley.

Uncover a head of the block of cylinders (fig. 3.6).
Remove air supply tubes.
Remove the distributor of ignition and a back cover.
Turn off bolts of fastening of a forward cover, accurately separate it from the engine and remove.
Remove a shaft assembled with yokes.
Remove the fuel pump and get the camshaft from a head of the block of cylinders.
Installation

Grease necks of the camshaft and establish a shaft so that the adjusting pin of a pulley was above (fig. 3.7).
Establish a shaft assembled with yokes.
Establish a forward cover, at the same time replace laying new.
Establish a pulley of a gear belt, having convinced of combination of tags on a forward cover and on a pulley.
Establish a back cover (laying replace new) and the ignition distributor.
Install the fuel pump, air supply tubes, a camshaft cover, a gear belt and a casing of a gear belt.
If the new camshaft was installed, it is necessary to execute operations after extra earnings, being guided by the instruction of the manufacturer on an engine running in.

Back cover
Removal
Remove the ignition distributor.
Merge cooling liquid and remove the thermostat.
For collecting oil from the case of a cover spread under it newspapers or rags.
Turn off bolts and nuts of fastening of a cover.
Accurately separate a cover from the engine, using the screw-driver wound by rags.
Installation
Carefully clear privalochny surfaces of a cover and a head of the block of cylinders of the consolidation remains.
Apply a layer of sealant on new laying and install it on the case.
Install the case on a head of the block of cylinders, screw bolts and nuts of fastening and tighten them the required moment.
Install the thermostat and fill in liquid in the cooling system.
Install the ignition distributor.

Mechanism of the drive of valves
Removal
Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
Uncover a head of the block of cylinders.

Weaken an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a shaft with yokes of valves in the sequence shown in fig. 3.8. Turn off bolts gradually, turning on a small corner.
After weakening of an inhaling turn off bolts and put them in a box with the numbered cells subsequently to establish each bolt on the former place.
Uncover the camshaft assembled with shaft and yokes of valves.
If there is a need of dismantling of shaft with yokes, mark details so that then to establish them in former situation. Yokes and shaft of yokes not interchangeable.
Installation
Carefully clear privalochny surfaces of a cover of the camshaft and a head of the block of cylinders of the sealant remains.
If dismantling of the mechanism was carried out, then before installation plentifully grease a shaft assembled with a cover and yokes pure engine oil.

Apply on privalochny surfaces of a cover of the camshaft and a head of the block of cylinders a sealant layer, as shown in fig. 3.9.
Install the mechanism of the drive of valves, tighten by hand fastening bolts, having established each bolt on the former place.

Tighten bolts the required moment in the sequence shown in fig. 3.10. You carry out an inhaling of bolts gradually.
Check gaps between valves and yokes, if necessary adjust them.
Establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders and connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

Replacement of a forward epiploon of the camshaft
Take off a gear belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.
Remove a pulley of a gear belt from the camshaft.
The screw-driver take an epiploon, having taken measures not to damage a working edge of an epiploon.
Grease working edges of a new epiploon with a thin layer of engine oil.
Insert an epiploon into a seat so that sponges of an epiploon were directed inside. By means of a mandrel evenly press an epiploon on a circle.

Valves, springs and maslootrazhatelny caps
Removal
Remove the mechanism of the drive of valves.
Remove a head of the block of cylinders.

Special adaptation squeeze springs of the valve and remove crackers (fig. 3.11). Unscrew adaptation screw, remove a plate of a spring and springs. Flat-nose pliers remove a maslootrazhatelny cap.
Remove the valve, put it together with crackers in a separate cell of a box with individual number to establish it then on the former place.
Installation
Put on a new maslootrazhatelny cap the directing plug and easy blows of the hammer to a mandrel to a napressuyta a cap before full landing to the plug.
Oil a core of the first valve fresh engine and insert it into that plug in which this valve was earlier installed.
Establish springs and plates and, having squeezed springs, establish crackers.
Repeat the same operations for other valves.
Establish a head of the block of cylinders and the mechanism of the drive of valves.

Inlet collector
Removal
Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery and remove the air filter.
Merge cooling liquid.
Remove the air filter.
Disconnect draft of the air gate, a butterfly valve (if is available), disconnect and take aside a cable of management and a vacuum hose.
Disconnect a heater hose on a partition of a motor compartment, and also a vacuum hose from the case of the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
Disconnect a fuel-supply line and close it a cap.
Disconnect hoses from a tank with absorbent carbon (absorber), from the carburetor and purge hoses from a tank (if the last is available).
Disconnect four sockets from the carburetor and a tank (if the last is available).
Apply tags on other hoses and sockets which can prevent at removal of a collector, having wound them with an adhesive tape with the pasted numbers on leaves, and disconnect them.
Turn off bolts and nuts of fastening of an inlet collector and remove a collector from a head of the block of cylinders.
Remove laying.
Installation
Clear the privalochny planes of a collector and a head of the block of cylinders of the remains of material of laying and foreign pollution, trying not to damage surfaces of these details from fragile aluminum alloy.
Establish new laying, put on a collector hairpins of fastening and screw nuts and bolts. Tighten nuts and bolts the required moment. At first tighten nuts and bolts in the central part, and then cross-wise, being displaced to the periphery.
Establish details which were removed for ensuring access to a branch pipe.

Final collector
Removal
Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
Remove connection of pipelines of system of air supply.
Remove connection with an air supply tube, turn out a lock bolt and the sensor of concentration of oxygen (if it is available) and remove the heat-insulating screen.
On a carving of hairpins of fastening of catalytic converter (or a reception exhaust pipe) to a head of the block of cylinders drop the liquid weakening connections and wait 10 min. before impregnation of a carving.

Turn off nuts of fastening of a final collector to a head of the block of cylinders and catalytic converter or to a reception exhaust pipe (fig. 3.12).
Hands separate a collector from a head of the block of cylinders, catalytic converter or a reception exhaust pipe and remove from the engine.
Installation
Clear the pallet the privalochny planes of a collector and a head of the block of cylinders of the laying material remains, trying not to damage a head surface.
Establish new laying and a collector on a head of the block of cylinders, record a collector, наживив nuts on hairpins. Wrap nuts and bolts of fastening of catalytic converter or a reception exhaust pipe. Tighten nuts and bolts the required moment. At first tighten nuts and bolts in the central part, and then tighten them cross-wise, being displaced to the periphery.
Fix the heat-insulating screen, air tubes and all other removed details.

PREVENTION
You carry out easing or an otvorachivaniye of bolts of fastening of the camshaft and a head of the block of cylinders on the cold engine.

Head of the block of cylinders
Removal
Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery, remove the air filter and tubes of air supply.
Merge cooling liquid and disconnect the top hose from a radiator.
Remove the ignition distributor.
Remove a casing of a gear belt of the drive of the camshaft and a gear belt.
Remove the fuel pump.
Remove an inlet collector.
Remove the generator. On models with the conditioner of air turn off a coupling bolt of fastening of the compressor of the conditioner and carefully remove the compressor, trying not to damage the highway (in which high pressure is supported) or a radiator. Turn off bolts of fastening of an arm of the generator and conditioner to a head of the block of cylinders and weaken an inhaling of other bolts of an arm.
Uncover a head of the block of cylinders.
Turn off three bolts of fastening of a final collector to catalytic converter or to a reception exhaust pipe and remove catalytic converter (or a reception pipe) from a final collector.

Weaken an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders, turning off each bolt on several turns for one pass. Turn off bolts in the sequence shown in fig. 3.13.
After weakening of an inhaling of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders turn off them and place in a box with the numbered cells subsequently to establish bolts on former places.
If removal of a head of the block of cylinders is complicated, then separate it, having entered an edge of an assembly shovel between an arm of the generator/compressor of the conditioner and a head of the block of cylinders.
Remove a head of the block of cylinders and laying of a head.
Installation
Clear the block of cylinders and a head of the block of cylinders of the laying remains. Be convinced of purity of a carving of bolts of fastening of a head and openings of the block of cylinders as at pollution indications of the moment of an inhaling at installation of a head can be violated.
Establish laying, a head of the block of cylinders, the camshaft and the mechanism of the drive of valves assembled with shaft and yokes (if it was removed). Be convinced of correctness of provision of laying.
Screw bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders and tighten them the required moments in the sequence shown in fig. 3.13.
Further installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal, taking into account the following.
After warming up of the engine check gaps between valves and yokes and tighten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders.

Back casing of a gear belt
Removal
Remove a casing of a gear belt of the drive of the camshaft and a gear belt.
Remove a pulley of a gear belt from the camshaft.
Turn off bolts and the screw-driver carefully separate a back casing of a gear belt from a head of the block of cylinders.
Installation
Carefully clear privalochny surfaces of laying material.

Establish into place a back casing of a gear belt with new laying and screw bolts (fig. 3.14). Tighten fastening bolts the required moment.
Further installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal.

Oil pump
Removal

Remove a casing of a gear belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism, a gear belt and a pulley of a gear belt from a bent shaft (fig. 3.15).
Remove the oil pallet.
Turn off bolts of a plate of fastening of the engine.
Turn out bolts and pick up the oil receiver phone.
Insert the screw-driver on a cover corner and separate a cover, having opened its consolidation.
Clear the privalochny surfaces of the oil pump of the sealant remains.

Grease a sealing ring with jellied lubricant and insert it into the pump. Apply on a pump housing a sealant layer in the places shown in fig. 3.16. Oil working edges of an epiploon fresh engine.
Install into place the oil pump and new laying, fix by bolts, having tightened them the required moment.
Establish an oil receiver with an arm, having replaced laying new. Tighten bolts the required moment.
Install the oil pallet.
Establish a new oil filter (filter type – Champion F2O8) and connect the socket of the sensor of emergency pressure drop of oil (if it was removed).
Establish a plate of fastening of the engine and fix it by bolts.
Establish a casing of a gear belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism, a gear belt and a pulley of a bent shaft.

Repair of the oil pump
Dismantling

Turn out screws of fastening of a back cover of the pump and remove its (fig. 3.17).
Get gear wheels from a pump housing. For this purpose it is possible to turn the case that gear wheels dropped out.
Clamp the pump in a vice with soft sponges, remove a lock ring, a cap, a plunger of the valve of the regulator of pressure and a spring.
Check
Wash out pump details in solvent.
Check existence on details of wear tracks, cracks and other destructions.

Check a gap between a surface of teeths of internal and external gear wheels and a calibration insert in the form of a half moon, a gap between a surface of an external gear wheel and the case and a gap between the plane of gear wheels and a privalochny surface of a cover of the case (fig. 3.18, 3.19, 3.20).

Surely replace an epiploon.
Assembly
Install the valve assembled with a plunger and a spring and fix by a lock ring.
Grease and establish gear wheels.
Establish a back cover of the pump and densely wrap screws, having greased their carving with the kontrovochny structure (the blocking liquid) interfering self-unscrewing.

Flywheel, coupling and back epiploon of a bent shaft 
Removal
Remove the transmission.

Remove a drive plate (the automatic transmission) or a casing of coupling with a press disk assembled, a drive plate of coupling and a flywheel (the mechanical transmission) (fig. 3.21).
The screw-driver take an epiploon.
Installation
Grease a new epiploon and insert it sponges inside into a seat. Establish an epiploon by easy uniform percussion by its peripheral part against the stop.
Establish a drive plate of coupling, a casing of coupling with a press disk and a flywheel or the hydrotransformer.
Grease a carving of bolts with sealant and tighten them the required moment.
Install the transmission.

Replacement of a gear wreath of a flywheel
Operations on replacement of a gear wreath of a flywheel at damage are given below
teeths. Removal of a gear wreath on cars with the automatic transmission is not provided.
Remove a flywheel.
Heat a gear wreath of a flywheel a blowtorch and bring down him from a flywheel the hammer and a drift.
Heat a new gear wreath of a flywheel to temperature of 250-300 °C (it is better to heat in an oil bathtub or the furnace). Put on a new wreath a flywheel.
At installation the facet on a wreath has to be directed towards the engine. If necessary besiege a gear wreath the hammer and a drift.
Establish a flywheel.

Oil heat exchanger
At an engine complete set the last is established by the oil heat exchanger between an oil filter and the block of cylinders. Two hoses are intended for a supply and removal of oil from the heat exchanger.
Remove an oil filter.
Merge liquid from the cooling system.

Disconnect hoses of a supply and removal of oil (fig. 3.22) from the oil heat exchanger.
Turn off a nut of fastening of the oil heat exchanger then the oil heat exchanger can be taken from the block of cylinders.
Before installation replace an epiploon and arrange the oil heat exchanger so that the tag of "UP" was directed up. Tighten a nut of fastening of the oil heat exchanger the required moment.
Establish a new oil filter and connect hoses.
Fill in liquid in the cooling system. Launch the engine and check existence of leak of oil or cooling liquid.
Switch off ignition. Check the level of oil and cooling liquid and if necessary add.

Oil pallet
Removal
Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
Lift a forward part of the car and establish on supports.
Merge engine oil from the engine.
Remove the torsion limiter of the engine.
Remove the right forward wheel and a mudguard.
Disconnect a reception exhaust pipe.
By means of the elevator suspend the engine in the place of fastening of a support No. 3, turn out a bolt and remove a fastening pillow.

Uncover a case of coupling (fig. 3.23). Remove a protective plate of the oil pallet (if the last is provided in a design).
Turn out bolts of fastening of the oil pallet.
Lift a forward part of the engine and the screw-driver inserted between the pallet and the block of cylinders, separate laying of the oil pallet.
Turn a forward part of the oil pallet to the left and remove the pallet.
Carefully wash out the pallet solvent.
Clear the interfaced surfaces of the oil pallet and the block of cylinders.

If laying installation is not provided, then apply the roller with a diameter of 6 mm of sealant of the RTV type on the interfaced surface of the oil pallet. If installation of laying is provided, then apply sealant on the sites shaded in fig. 3.24.
Install the oil pallet into place and fix by bolts. Tighten bolts the required moment.
Further installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal, taking into account the following.
After installation of the oil pallet fill in necessary amount of oil of the recommended type in the engine, launch the engine and check oil leak existence.

Replacement of elements of an engine mount without removal of the engine from the car
Elements of an engine mount can be replaced without removal from the car of the power unit (the engine assembled with the transmission).
Hardening of rubber buffers of fastening of the engine, their stratification and separation from steel slips can be checked, resting against them the big screw-driver.
Lift a forward part of the car and establish on supports.
Support by a jack through wooden whetstone the engine from below.
The torsion limiter of an engine mount
Remove the right forward wheel and a mudguard.
Remove a rubber cap and turn out a bolt of fastening of the torsion.

Turn off bolts from a motor compartment and remove the torsion knot from the engine (fig. 3.25).
Engine support
Turn off nuts of fastening of the engine from below of the car.

Turn off bolts from a motor compartment and remove support from the engine (fig. 3.26).
Installation is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal.
