6.6. Compensator of frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine idling

The compensator of frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine idling provided on some models is intended for automatic increase in the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft decreasing under the influence of additional loading from the drive of the compressor of the conditioner and/or the hydraulic booster of steering. The compensator consists of a servodiafragma which design depends on how the car – air conditioning system and the hydraulic booster or only with air conditioning system and the three-running electromagnetic valve is completed. Malfunction of system is shown in reduction of frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine idling during the operation of the conditioner and/or hydraulic booster.

Servodiafragma
Remove the air filter.
Disconnect everything consumers and disconnect the contact socket from the electric fan of the cooling system.
Disconnect and close traffic jams idling compensator hoses, reed valves and the sensor of temperature.
Warm up the engine up to the working temperature and connect a tachometer.
The models equipped with the conditioner

Disconnect a tube of depression of 1 (fig. 6.18).
Through a tee give depression on a hose and a diaphragm, at the same time the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine has to increase up to 1200–1450 min.-1. If necessary establish the set frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine by rotation of the adjusting screw (fig. 6.19).

The models equipped with the hydraulic booster of steering
Remove the air filter.
Disconnect everything consumers and disconnect the contact socket from the electric fan of the cooling system.
Disconnect and close traffic jams idling compensator hoses, reed valves and the sensor of temperature.
On the models equipped with air conditioning system check and adjust a servodiafragma.

Disconnect a tube of depression of 1 (fig. 6.20) and through a tee give depression on a hose and a diaphragm.
Frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine has to increase up to 800–1000 min.-1 for models with the mechanical transmission and to 1050–1250 min.-1 for models with the automatic transmission. If necessary disconnect a vacuum hose and establish the required frequency by rotation of the adjusting screw (fig. 6.21).

Connect a vacuum hose and again check the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine idling.
Three-running valve
The three-running valve is switched on between an inlet collector and servodiafragmy.

On the models equipped with the conditioner, the three-running valve turns off giving of depression according to the signal sent to the control unit from the conditioner switch. On the models equipped with the hydraulic booster of steering, the three-running valve turns off giving of depression according to a signal from the switch of the hydraulic booster of steering (fig. 6.22).

Turn on the conditioner (the engine has to idle). If the valve is serviceable, then the rod of a servodiafragma (fig. 6.23) moves forward.
Switch off the conditioner and turn a steering wheel against the stop to the right or to the left. If the three-running valve and the switch of the hydraulic booster of steering are serviceable, then the servodiafragma rod moves forward.

Disconnect the socket from the switch of the hydraulic booster of steering and check short circuit of a chain via the switch according to fig. 6.24. During the operation of the engine idling turn a steering wheel against the stop to the right or to the left – the switch has to be in the closed state.
